Anyone with eyes can see that Trump is running away with the Primaries, but with loads of NeverTrump money to burn Nikki is pledging to stay for the long haul.
Leaving aside how pointless red-on-red infighting advantages Joe by burning through Republican campaign resources, there’s another reason to question why she’s still hanging on.
When DeSantis made his announcement, he asked the simple question: do I still have an obvious path to victory. Absent a clear ‘yes’ answer to that question, the responsible decision was to suspend his campaign.
If Nikki is hellbent on staying in the race, she must have some idea in her head of how she’s going to make her run against Trump competitive.
So when her surrogate was asked about it on Newsmax, that should have been a layup… right?
Not so much.
