How crazy is it that one of X/Twitter’s biggest Biden boosters and Trump trolls is stepping up to defend Tucker Carlson?
This is exactly the kind of evidence that might help die-hard lefties realize that the ‘extreme’ in today’s extreme politics is coming from how far the LEFT has moved from the center not by changes on the right.
Tucker Carlson has been sitting down with political leaders from around the world. Why not sit down with Putin if given the chance? Isn’t that what journalists do?
Remember when Putin rolled into Crimea in the first place? Did Hillary and Obama denounce him as the personification of evil then? Nope. Obama shook his hand at the G20. Canada’s Prime Minister Harper told him to get out of Ukraine.
Hillary gave Putin a big ‘reset’ button. Obama had that infamous hot mic moment about being ‘more flexible’ AFTER his 2012 re-election.
But let one free-thinking journalist sit down and ask Russia’s President questions and suddenly it’s the end of the world! (Are we secretly at war with Russia? Has our government not bothered to tell us?)
But ever since Hillary lost that election, Putin has become a political version of Typhoid Mary. It’s dangerous even to talk to him. Sharing the same opinion as him on almost any topic is proof positive that you are somehow a ‘stooge’.
Enter Tucker Carlson. Ever since Fox News made the decision to fire him, he has been free to cover topics that Fox would never have backed him up for — the obvious example of that dynamic was the re-interviewing of the Capitol Police top cop who was fired as a fall guy by Nancy Pelosi.
He’s gone to Europe, South America and just finished a speaking tour in Canada’s answer to Texas. He was criticized for his choices, but nobody lost their minds.
Showing up in Moscow was different. Americans denounced him as ‘traitor’ and one brainiac wanted Tucker — an American citizen! — to be denied re-entry into his native land because of it.
According to Newsweek, the European Union is taking that idea even further and wants to hit him with a travel ban and SANCTIONS!
Carlson’s work in Russia could see the former Fox News host in hot water with the EU, Guy Verhofstadt, a former Belgian Prime Minister and current member of the European Parliament, told Newsweek.
The lawmaker—who has called for the EU to explore imposing a “travel ban” on Carlson—described Carlson as “a mouthpiece” of former President Donald Trump and Putin, adding: “As Putin is a war criminal and the EU sanctions all who assist him in that effort, it seems logical that the External Action Service examine his case as well.” — Newsweek
Even a Dem talking-point shill like Brian Krassenstein is calling bull***t on that one.

This is the second time in a day he’s come to Tucker’s defense.
I disagree with Tucker Carlson on many issues, including many of his past statements about Putin and Russia.
The fact that the Mainstream Media has felt the need to report:

This doesn’t suggest he’s going to switch parties or anything.
But there are a lot of people who have no idea what’s being said outside of their own insular political world. A Krassian bringing attention to and denouncing politicians calling for freaking SANCTIONS against a journalist is the kind of data point that has made people rethink their assumptions about the both the criticism of the right they have believed uncritically AND the supposed moral high ground of the political left.
Don’t forget — some of the right’s most influential voices today have been former leftists who understand exactly what the other side believes… and how to persuade them to challenge their own assumptions.
