Thanks, Joe: 70 Percent of Americans Struggling to Afford Groceries

A new poll finds that in Joe Biden’s America, nearly 70 percent of Americans are having trouble being able to afford their grocery bills each month.

The most recent data compiled by retail technology platform Swiftly finds that more than two-thirds of Americans are facing food insecurity and that thanks to Biden’s sky-high inflation, 83 percent are struggling to afford their grocery bill.

More from Fox News:

The study also pointed to shifts in consumer behavior. Some 74% of those surveyed said they had changed their grocery shopping habits in the last year, and 33% said they are now shopping in-store more than in years past.

The average cost of everyday essentials is elevated across the board this year, but the cost of groceries is even higher.

The Labor Department’s latest consumer price index – which tracks the prices of a bevy of goods including gasoline, grocery, and rents – showed prices rose an average of 7.7% on an annual basis in October, hovering near a four-decade high. But the cost of food at home soared 12.4% over the same month a year ago.

Some staple items rose by eye-popping amounts, with coffee up 14.8%, cereal up by 16.9%, and eggs up by a staggering 43%.

Joe Biden is running around the country desperately trying to convince everyone that his disastrous Bidenomics plan is “working” for America.

Well, it might be working if the plan is to make life harder for Americans, that’s for sure.

As the Heartland Institute’s Chris Talgo recently noted, “Bidenomics has failed both as a policy and as a slogan.”

“According to a recent survey by Lending Club, 61 percent of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck. What’s more, about 75 percent of those earning less than $50,000 and 65 percent of those making $50,000 to $100,000 per year are struggling to make ends meet on a monthly basis. Incredibly, even 45 percent of Americans earning more than $100,000 say they are living paycheck-to-paycheck,” Talgo wrote.
