Have you noticed how Dems seem to have no trouble pushing the most heinous legislation when they have power, and yet, when the GOP gets their turn, they can hardly pass anything?
It isn’t as if we don’t now what happens when conservative ‘moderates’ look cooperate with Democrats. We get taken to the cleaners. Even when we don’t cooperate, they find a way to push all kinds of priorities nobody even ran on rammed down our throats. More than that, we get all kinds of appointees flying through their confirmation process faster that carp through a goose. When we get the gavel? We do the Dems’ work for them, blocking our own ability to pass recess appointments.
Arguments that America is best represented by embodying the ‘moderate middle’ are falling apart. Even CNN is showing the hard truth that most Democrats don’t even really LIKE America anymore, let alone feel patriotic about it.
There used to be a two party system separated by ideology but unified in respect for the law and proliferation of shared American values.
Now there are no shared values. It’s just the people that like America vs the people that want to destroy it. pic.twitter.com/xUdP2PTyow

The SAVE America act is an 80/20 issue. The base loves it. The independents love it. All demographics appreciate it. Even a strong percentage of Democrats like the idea. The only ones opposed are the professional political class on the left who can appreciate the wrench that throws into their own political power.
So, what’s standing in the way of legislation that pretty much everyone but the Schumer/Jeffries coalition thinks is good for America?
The short answer, according to a Daily Caller exclusive, is petty politics.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune admitted some Senate Republicans hate President Donald Trump too much to support the SAVE America Act, multiple sources familiar with the comments told the Daily Caller.
Thune admitted during a closed-door GOP lunch on Wednesday that some Republican senators oppose President Donald Trump so strongly that they will never vote for the SAVE America Act, regardless of the legislation’s merits, according to several sources familiar with the matter.
The discussion quickly escalated into a heated exchange between Republican Utah Sen. Mike Lee, the bill’s chief Senate sponsor, and several of his GOP colleagues. Republican Texas Sen. John Cornyn and Thune both challenged Lee’s push for the legislation, according to a source familiar with the meeting. — Daily Caller
Mike Lee is not letting this go.
And failure to support the SAVE Act is literally the key reason why incumbent John Cornyn lost his primary to Paxton. Paxton would have bowed out in exchange for Cornyn getting this legislation over the finish line.
Instead of him leading it over the finish line — or even setting up a genuine filibuster that FORCES Dems to exert their veto and answer for taking an unpopular stand — Cornyn found himself on the losing end of one of the most expensive primaries in history.
He KNOWS the will of the people. He’s there ‘representing’ Texas for a few more months. The problem is, he just doesn’t care.
And if you look no further than the roll call of some of the Senate votes, it isn’t hard to see who else falls in that category.
It’s easy to make the claim that you’re ‘standing on principles’ but when the votes you cast are directly undercutting the known will of those who elected you?
Whatever you THINK you are defending? It is NO LONGER a system that places any value on representing the genuine will of the people who sent you there to do a job.
It’s bad enough that DEMS walk lockstep in pushing their power politics into official policy. That they are getting an assist by disaffected establishment Republicans is nothing short of disgusting.
