They WANT you to think this is some sort of a racially motivated harassment campaign. In reality, it’s a crackdown on crimes they ALL pretend to care deeply about. Including gun crimes.
When we started seeing a pattern of truckers on the roads who couldn’t speak a lick of English, we knew there was a problem. When Sanctuary states refused to cooperate with investigations? That problem started looking like it was part of something MUCH bigger.
When Sec Duffy set about flipping over rocks to see what was lurking under them, suddenly all KINDS of creepy crawlies were exposed to the light of day for the first time. An organized task force was set up to tackle the problem at scale. And we’ve got some results.
Clown media on the left are desperately trying to downplay the story as a ‘failure’ of the fraud task force because the problem they’re trying to solve really isn’t that bad, statistically. These are the same credible and reliable voices who told us so confidently that the ‘border was secure’ under Biden, that inflation was either ‘non-existent’ or ‘transitory’, depending on when you asked, that the fall of Kabul was a ‘success’, and that both Biden and Kamala were intelligent, talented and capable candidates. They were also incandescently upset that we DARED to call for investigations into the (now dozens of convicted) fraudsters in Minnesota. I wonder why?
Needless to say, any of their claims can be taken with a block of salt.
Here’s Sec Duffy talking about their progress so far.
If you prefer the written version? There’s a press release, and you can bet your bottom dollar that this project is about a LOT more than just ‘harassing a few immigrants’
Here’s just a generalized sampling of highlights from that lengthy release:
Emergency removal of 110 commercial driver’s license (CDL) schools associated with more than 5,000 drivers who failed English language proficiency tests
Synchronized single-day sweep targeting more than 200 training schools across 23 states
“Foreigners and illegal aliens have exploited America’s trucking industry, often putting unqualified, improperly trained, non-English speaking drivers on our highways. Some may be hauling drugs or weapons for international crimes networks.
previous administration disagreed and turned a blind eye to criminal enterprises that allowed drivers who couldn’t pass a basic English test to obtain a commercial driver’s license,
we will aggressively pursue the individuals and criminal networks that use fraudulent documents, illicit financial schemes and other unlawful means to circumvent our laws and profit at the expense of public safety.”
USDOT has knocked over 28,000 drivers off our roads for failing to speak English, forced states to cancel over 30,000 licenses illegally issued to foreign drivers, and purged over 8,000 unqualified training schools from our FMCSA registry.
State’s Response Window: The state has 30 days to create a mutually agreed-upon Corrective Action Plan (CAP) detailing how it will fix the issues.
Final Determination & Consequences: If the state fails to correct the problems, FMCSA issues a final determination of substantial noncompliance. This triggers a mandatory withholding of federal highway funds, starting at up to 4% in the first year and increasing to 8% for each subsequent year of noncompliance.
Decertification: For serious issues, FMCSA may begin the decertification process. A decertified state cannot issue, renew, transfer, or upgrade any CDLs.
HSI and USDOT-OIG are investigating medical practitioners suspected of improperly certifying medical exams required for illegal aliens to obtain CDLs.
Investigating companies exploiting visa holders, engaging in visa fraud, labor exploitation, financial crimes, and drug trafficking associated with CDL businesses.
Didja catch that? This thing we’re not supposed to care about — because racism — even includes investigations into companies that are exploiting legitimate visa holders and pressuring them to break the law ‘or else’.
And there’s the illegal operations involved in moving guns and drugs. We were told that’s a really big deal to Dems… were we not?
And the cherry on top?
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE OPERATIONS
Today, the Department of Justice is announcing the formation of the Joint Task Force Crossroads of America. This multi-state Task Force is being formed to safeguard the nation’s highway system and strengthen the security of our borders. The Task Force teams up the United States Attorney’s Offices in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio with our state and local enforcement, prosecutors, and federal partners including the Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, FBI, DEA, HSI, ICE, and ATF.
The Task Force seeks to enhance roadway safety; reduce fatalities, serious injuries, and criminal activity; deter illegal trucking practices; promote consistent, data‑driven enforcement strategies across jurisdictions; and hold accountable those who would harm the United States and its citizens.
