If there was any ‘silver lining’ from the COVID shutdown it was the wake-up call had about who REALLY holds the balance of power in the school system.
Parents cried bloody murder over schools being shut down, learning loss, and the heavy price of making kids wear masks. They found themselves on terror watch lists if they complained about their daughters being raped by some guy in a dress in public school bathrooms, or insisting that they have authority to be the adult in their children’s relationship without some meddling teacher being the one to ‘rescue’ students from their parents’ old-fashioned worldviews and ideas about, say, human relationships.
We watched children being used by pawns by Teachers Unions who predicated returning to school on political concessions having everything to do with advancing a hard left/socialist/communist ideological agenda and nothing whatsoever with the usual bargaining points of salary, benefits, and working conditions. Even Biden Admin’s official policy/language about the COVID shutdown was guided by, not ‘the science’ as we were told by the chattering nabobs, but by one of the largest Teacher’s Unions itself?
The mask came off in COVID and parents hated the true face of a once-trusted institution that has long been failing an enormous percentage of America’s children,
When Trump came back to office, he made it clear that he wanted to take the power that had been so tightly consolidated in the Super-ZIP Codes of the DC Swamp and push as much as possible back into the hands of decision-makers close to the students affected by such decisions.
President Trump and Education Secretary McMahon stood together to deliver some announces on the progress of that effort.

In the case of Six states that have begun the switch, that means putting authority over the use of federal education funds into the hands of State and local officials.
Some 30 states are set up to receive a dollar-for-dollar tax rebate for the first $1700 invested in k-12 scholarships for schools. But there’s more to it than just that.
