This is what happens when lawmakers elevate political grandstanding above the actual safety of citizens, law enforcement, and yes, even illegal aliens.
The lower-conflict resolutions that Tom worked out to bring down the temperature in Minnesota were just taken off the table in New York. That means, instead of sending one or two officers to safely transport a guy who’s already in lawful custody to another location, a team has to go into an unknown situation where the suspects may or may not be armed, and people not already on law enforcement’s radar might come to the attention of ICE officers.
That ramps up the chances of people on both sides of the point of conflict getting hurt, and the friends and family of the illegal aliens being sought for crimes committed will get swept up in the same net.
And who’s going to get blamed for ‘innocent people’ being arrested? You guessed it. The Big Bad EEVIL GOP.
In reality, if elected Dems just let law enforcement hand over career criminals to ICE so the bad guys could be deported, we’d see fewer collateral arrests and fewer injured parties.
Hochul picked the hard way. And now, we’re going to see more waves of Portlandian paid protesters inciting violence in response to the ‘heartless’ GOP arrests.
