Paxton and Talarico could not be more dissimilar. But for all Talarico’s ‘concern’ for trans kids, do you EVER hear him talk about distraught kids who want to detransition?
Of course not. Because Talarico’s ‘compassion’ is a one-way ratchet. It’s ideological. He doesn’t even acknowledge the people who HAVE been bull-rushed into accepting some (profit-motivated?) health care provider’s conclusions that radical medical interventions are what will ‘certainly’ make a suffering kid happy. Only to find out the grass was NOT, in fact, greener on that other side.
Ken Paxton, on the other hand, has not only CARED about such people, he has held fraudsters accountable, and helped to create a remedy for those who discovered — a little too late — that the life they were born into really wasn’t so bad after all.
Here is the full text (minus the headline) of his Press Release:
Attorney General Ken Paxton announced that Texas Children’s Hospital (“Texas Children’s”) has opened the country’s first-ever Detransition Clinic. This fulfills a central requirement of Attorney General Paxton’s landmark settlement that he secured with Texas Children’s in May.
The Detransition Clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic that provides medical care to patients who previously underwent gender-transition interventions. It offers detransition-related medical care to patients through age 21, along with detransition-related obstetric and gynecologic care to patients older than 21. Because the care is multidisciplinary, patients may receive services at different Texas Children’s locations, depending on their individual needs and the services recommended by their care team.
In addition to requiring the creation of the Detransition Clinic, Attorney General Paxton’s settlement required the hospital to pay $10 million as part of the resolution of Attorney General Paxton’s claims. These claims were brought under the Texas Health Care Program Fraud Prevention Act for billing Texas Medicaid for unallowable and illegal “gender-transition” interventions. Among other things, the settlement also compelled the permanent and irrevocable termination of privileges of multiple physicians. It also requires Texas Children’s to amend its bylaws to specify that performance of gender-transition interventions triggers automatic relinquishment of medical staff privileges. This historic legal victory followed an extensive investigation led by the OAG’s Healthcare Program Enforcement Division.
“In accordance with my settlement with Texas Children’s Hospital, the nation’s first-ever Detransition Clinic is now open,” said Attorney General Paxton. “I will continue to ensure that this clinic provides the care and support that victims of the radical left’s gender ideology deserve. Together, we will protect our children and defeat the dangerous ideology that has inflicted irreversible harm on innocent kids.”
Texas Children’s is required to fully fund the Detransition Clinic’s services for its first five years, so patients may receive care at no cost, and to promote the clinic on its website. With the election now just days away, his words about the chasm of difference between Ken Paxton and his opponent, often dubbed ‘Talafreako’ for any number of self-evident reasons…
As featured by President @realDonaldTrump today, this is who James Talarico is.
He can’t outrun his record any longer. https://t.co/xOxY3jda5l

… the closing argument Paxton is making about a drop of rain falling one inch on either side of the Continental Divide finding its way to oceans 3000 miles apart has more than just a ring of truth to it.
Make no mistake: James Talarico is the most radical Democrat ever to run statewide in Texas. For 8 years, he’s pushed a Democratic Socialist agenda, and his record proves it.

Paxton is right. We DO need to pray.
But in light of the fact that only about half of Christians bother to show up to vote, we remind our readers that we also need to take seriously our role as citizens in a land where God has seen fit to give The People a voice in how their country is governed.
Otherwise, we’re ceding authority to those who are openly at war with the very things we hold dear.
