Been a helluva a year for sketchy Democrat candidates.
Eric Swalwell is about as shady as a politician gets. The next time he makes an honest statement about anything in politics could well be the first time.
In any sane world, a politician caught up in allegations about taking bribes from a CCP spy would be instantly radioactive and dropped like an anvil. But he found a way to be useful to the party, and so was shielded from real consequences… until he had exhausted that usefulness.
Not only was he shielded from an investigation in the Obama administration — headed by a discredited federal prosecutor with a very familia name — but he managed to sit on the Gang of Eight with Pelosi, Schumer and Schiff. He was particularly vocal in leveraging both the Russian Collusion hoax and the ‘Perfect’ Zelenskyy phone call into an Impeachment allegation. That might have something to do with why he was considered ‘useful’.
But this spring, his candidacy for Governor of California threatened to split the left’s vote to the point that 2 GOP candidates could win the jungle primary, guaranteeing a Republican Governor. Like clockwork, the damage control team put the right damaging information into the right hands, and he was forced to leave the race. Problem solved.
Or was it? The Swalwell Curse wasn’t over yet. Others were going to get caught up in his problems. His buddy Gallego was thrown under the microscope facing ethics questions of his own, and his own past behavior was thrown in his face — like walking out on his wife while she was giving birth to his kid, and serious questions on how campaign money was used may well still be under federal investigation.
In a delicious twist of irony, Trump came back in his second term as president (after Swalwell’s two impeachment attempts failed to result in a conviction) and declassified info about the FBI’s investigation into Eric Swalwell.
They show the FBI opened a predicated investigation, which is a formal law enforcement inquiry backed by a factual basis or allegation that indicates a crime or national security threat already exists.

The files provide significant new details about the long-rumored relationship between Fang and Swalwell, including that:

- The FBI initially wanted to investigate the congressman for a bribery scheme in which he exchanged donations from Fang for her planting interns in his office, but eventually decided to narrow the case to seek criminal charges only against Fang for making illegal donations to the California Democrat through conduits.
- Swalwell admitted to having sex with Fang, his staff placing Fang’s interns in Congress and not having a strong enough campaign finance system to detect the straw donations she allegedly passed through U.S.-citizen conduits.
- The Justice Department declined to prosecute Fang despite strong evidence of the illicit donations after she fled the U.S. as the FBI began interviewing her associates and raided her home. The early steps in the investigation were overseen in part by controversial prosecutor Jack Smith, who would later pursue Donald Trump on criminal charges.
- The FBI was recruiting Fang to be a confidential informant through an undercover agent, assigned her the code name Rusty Thumbs, planned to hire her through a cutout company and was still evaluating her suitability as a confidential human source when they discovered her alleged criminal behavior.
- The FBI knew early on during the recruitment that Fang was tied to China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS), Beijing’s notorious intelligence service. The bureau also identified her parents as MSS agents, knew she was raising money for California Democrats and was willing to use sex as a means of getting ahead in the world of U.S. politics.
And who was at the center of the Swalwell investigation? The very same unscrupulous clown Biden’s people tried to turn loose on Trump:
Jack Smith.
Better yet, the DOJ has received criminal referrals for Jack Smith deceiving Congress under oath, and there are claims of his office — the one that was tasked with a criminal investigation into Trump ‘mishandling classified information’ — is in violation of which law?
You guessed it.
‘Mishandling classified information.’
All those old saws about falling into the trap you dig for someone else?
We might actually get to see them in used.
