The question was ‘do you trust the science now?’ You might think with a grin that you already know the answer. You don’t. His was better.
A paper published in European Urology (the paper was actually published December 2016) is once again making the rounds for its dramatic (and specific) health claim with respect to prostate health and the male orgasm.
An old IFL Science article ran a story based on that then-recent study highlighting the most salacious detail of the recurring factoid here:
Researchers from Harvard University released a recent study, published in European Urology, that suggests men who climax 21 times or more per month may have their chances of prostate cancer slashed by up to a third.
[…]
Previous studies have suggested that an active sex life may help to lower one’s risk of cancer, but now the golden number of orgasms per month has been suggested by these researchers. It is currently unconfirmed why, but some scientists believe a successful orgasm may flush out cancer-determining toxins that build up in the prostate.
Nick Freitas responded to the 21/month factoid sent to him by a friend. But his answer to ‘do you trust the science now’ was not what you might expect.

Anyone clicking through the IFL link and reading their framing of the orgasm frequency as one that can only be achieved by self-stimulation will note that either assume their readers are single or that they suffer from a staggering lack of imagination.
Nick has the right idea here.
And FWIW, nowhere in that study does it suggest all of those orgasms have to fall on different days.
Our readers are free to make such use of this important data as they see fit.
Some of you will echo Nick’s sentiments on the research side.
Here’s to you!
Speaking of ‘believing the science’, have we truly learned anything from the pandemic mistakes? Or are we on track to repeat them again next time?
Dear Christian: Your Fear Is Full of Crap
by Doug Giles
Beginning in March 2020, many Christians went into lockdown-freak-out mode. Uncut, irrational, unbiblical, and not to mention, unconstitutional, fear gripped many churches and church leaders. Forced to choose between obeying the Word of God or the edict of man, most Western Churches buckled. We even saw it here in First Amendment-protected America.
The Apostle Peter buckled to fear on the night of Christ’s crucifixion. But he learned his lesson and lived the rest of his life bold as a lion. How can the church ‘go and do likewise’?
